قالت تقارير إعلامية، إن 50 لقوا حتفهم، و300نقلوا إلى المستشفيات في الهند بعد خروج قطار ركاب عن مساره واصطدامه بقطار بضائع في بالاسور بولاية أوديشا، اليوم الجمعة.
وتشير التقارير الأولية لوسائل الإعلام المحلية إلى مخاوف من محاصرة 200 راكب في عربات القطار المقلوبة.

من جانبه، وصف مسؤول بولاية بنغال الغربية للصحافيين الحادث بـ”الخطير”.
وقال مسؤولون في السكة الحديد جنوب شرق، شريطة حجب أسمائهم، إنهم يخشون خسائر بشرية كبيرة جداً، دون الكشف عن عدد محدد.
وقالت التقارير إن قطار كورومانديل السريع، الذي يربط كولكاتا بتشيناي، خرج عن مساره وسقط على المسار المعاكس، ولا يزال كثيرون محاصرين.
وقال المدير العام لشركة ساوث إيسترن للسكك الحديدية، أرشانا جوشي: “لا يمكنني التعليق على التفاصيل في الوقت الحالي وأرقام الضحايا. كنت في دلهي وأنا أسرع إلى موقع الحادث”.
